Click and Collect at The Glost House

Click and Collect at The Glost House

Lockdown second time around feels different. We’ve learned a lot from the last six or seven months. We’ve also worked incredibly hard to build a business again after a standing start.

In the main that’s been down to the fact we’ve been able to protect the jobs of the team we’ve built. And when we’ve come back to work they’ve repaid that with loyalty and resilience, accepting fewer shifts, yet more duties and increased demands.

There’s only so many times you can get knocked down before starting again from scratch seems like too much effort. Don’t worry – we’re not there. Yet.
But we want to do everything we can to keep hold of that momentum we’ve gained since July. We also want to keep our staff and customers safe, and ensure there are worthwhile jobs left to come back to, when the world is in a more stable place.

So we are launching a click and collect service – Glost House style.

We are taking some of our most popular menu items and making them available to buy online with 15-minute collection slots available on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

We’ve chosen the types of dishes that you can take home and share with your families, that you can pimp up with a few bits of pieces from the fridge, that you can enjoy for the fact they are made from scratch with simple, good quality ingredients.

A treat, a celebration, a pick-me-up, an alternative to a fast food takeaway.

Think mini-deli-come-bakery: quiches, pies, sausage rolls, deli boards, cakes and scones.

Customers will need to order and pay online, with the booking system open from Saturday night until Thursday afternoon.

When placing your order you will be able to choose your pick-up time between 3pm and 6pm on Friday or 9am and 12noon on Saturday.

Simply pay online, visit us (wearing your mask!) at your allotted time, and we will hand over your goods made fresh that same day.

It is a limited menu to begin with – please don’t look for sandwiches and oatcakes, soup or single slices of cake. But rest assured if we think we can make this work we will bring more staff back off furlough and into the kitchen to expand our offering if the demand is there.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported The Glost House over the last four-and-a-half years. We know some of you have enquired about takeaway, so we hope this is a viable solution for us all.

Most of all we hope you enjoy your Glost House to go.
